Kadusa Dress Sew Along


Apply fusible interfacing to the bodice front facings and the back neck facings.

Fold and press the bodice and the front facings at the center front as shown in the image.

Join the facings together at the shoulder.

Neaten the raw edge of the facings.

Join the bodice right to the bodice left at the center back.

Join the front to the back at the shoulder.

Sew the remainder of the center front seam, stopping at the bottom of the opening.

Place the facings to the bodice with folded pleats. Sew around the neckline.

Join the bodice front to the bodice back at the side seams. Sew from the bottom of the bodice to the sleeve edge.

Double turn and stitch the sleeve hem.

Sew the outer waistband side front to the center front piece, leaving a gap for the drawstring.

Fold the lower edge of the center and the back inner waistband to the wrong side, 1 cm.

Join the front waistband to the back waistband at the side seams. Now, both of the front and the back done.

Sew the skirt right and the skirt left at the center back. Repeat this on the skirt front.

Sew the side seams of the skirt and make the inseam pocket. Gather the top of the skirt along with the finished side seam pocket.

Sew the top edge of the outer waistband to the bodice. Sew the lower edge of the outer waistband and the skirt together. Put the bodice between the outer and the inner waistband. Sew the unfolded edge of the inner waistband to the bodice.

Press the inner waistband to the skirt. Machine stitch in place.

Fold and press the drawstring to 1 cm (3/8") width as shown here. Edge stitch around the drawstring.
