Kodama Wrap Sew Along

 

 

 

 

HOW TO MAKE VIEW A

Fold each waist tie piece in half along the long edge, right sides together.

Sew along the long side and one end of the short side.

Turn the tie to the right side.

Machine stitch around the edge of the tie.

Sew the center back seam.

Place a finished tie on the match mark at the waist of the left side back dress.
Sew the side seams of the dress and make the inseam pocket.

Sew the bust dart.

Sew all the princess panel lines together.

Join the front to the back at the shoulder.

Apply fusible interfacing to the back neck facing and the front facing.

Join the pieces at the shoulder seams.

Neaten the edge of the facing.

If you wish, apply stay tape along the center front and the neckline stitching line.


 
Place the waist tie between the dress front and the facing at the top of the center front, both left and right.

Attach the facing to the dress at the center front and the neckline as shown by the red line, sandwiching the waist tie with the dress and the facing.

Hem the dress.

Sew the elbow dart.

Stitch the sleeve underarm seams.

Machine the ease stitches around the sleeve head.

Pull up the ease stitches until the sleeve fits nearly in the armhole.

Double turn and stitch the sleeve hem.

Insert the sleeve into the armhole.

Looking inside, machine stitch the waist tie to the right side front seam allowance of the dress at the waist position.



HOW TO MAKE COLLAR of VIEW B

Up to step 10 is the same procedure as "VIEW A "

Apply fusible interfacing to the outer collar piece.

Stitch around the upper edge. Turn the right side out.

Attach the facing to the dress at the center front and the neckline as shown in step 11, sandwiching the waist tie and finished collar with the dress and the facing.

The subsequent steps are the same procedure as step 12 to step 17 of "VIEW A".
